Abstract
This research is a mere attempt to show the interest of Umayyad poets in certain Jordanian places as reflected in their poetry. Including the crucial role of these places, their verses were also an important source for the study of Jordanian role in historical events. Poetry, in addition, described war and commercial industries, departure of armies, transportation. Looting of rich towns. Poetry, also, dealt with the distribution of tribes and the concern Caliphs showed toward these towns. It, also, informed us about poetical festivals which took place in Jordan and attended by poets residing in Jordan, as well as, bards invited from outside. Therefore, Jordan and its places were alive in Omayyad poetry which illuminated, Social, economic, historical, geographical and intellectual dimensions of these places.
